Join the Movement: 2013 National Infertility Awareness Week is April 21-27th
I am pleased to be a guest blogger on Univfy’s blog – thank you to Univfy for supporting National Infertility Awareness Week®!
Every day, people do amazing things in their communities to improve the lives of people who have the disease of infertility. It might be a healthcare professional, an adoption professional, or perhaps a friend or family member of someone living with infertility. It might even be someone who has resolved their infertility and now wants to give back to others still on their journey.
RESOLVE began National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) in 1989, and today, 24 years later, it is the only federally recognized national health observance for infertility awareness. It is an important time each year for us all to come together and raise awareness about this public health issue that impacts 7.3 million Americans. While much progress has been made, much work still needs to be done to educate the media, the public, and our government that people with infertility matter.
This year, RESOLVE is asking everyone to “Join the Movement”:
Join the movement to bring infertility support groups to every community.
Join the movement to help increase and protect access to all family building options.
Join the movement and help change the conversation about infertility.
During National Infertility Awareness Week, RESOLVE asks the infertility community to tell us how you are making a difference in ways large and small. By sharing our stories, we not only call attention to the disease of infertility, we inspire more family members, more friends, more medical professionals, and more lawmakers to join the movement.
